Boys Grammar School
Burton Grammar School’s history can be traced back to Burton Abbey in 1520. In 1834, it moved into premises in Friar’s Walk which can still be seen today. In 1877, it moved to new much needed larger premises built in Bond Street. In 1957, it was moved into its final premises in Winshill.
For a more comprehensive history, you can access the dedicated website above.
In 1975, the school ceased as a Grammar School when they were abolished and became part of the replacement Abbot Beyne Comprehensive School.
